Yeats’s poem “the second coming”

This is an essay of literary analysis, in which you will connect Yeats’s choice of words to your reading of the poem itself. Why does he choose particular words? Why does he use them where he does in the poem? How do they work with the rhyme scheme and meter? How do they help to set tone? How do they suggest images? Why those words and not others? (In other words, your essay should not just be a paragraph-by-paragraph list of important words in the poem, but a genuine exploration of how those words contribute to the poem itself. If those words were changed, would the poem have the same meaning to you?)
