Presentation Scenario – Context & Background: You are to act as a group of social media consultants
to a large multi-national organisation who are investigating the advantages and disadvantages of
using multi-media, including social media, to promote their products to international markets. Your
presentation should build a case for a more pro-active use of these platforms by the organisation and
identify the advantages and potential disadvantages of doing so. Your presentation should also
indicate to the audience, why the organisation should maximise the use of multi-media, including
social media, for target marketing to their customer base.
What the task involves: Your task is to develop and present:
• The advantages and disadvantages of 2 social media platforms within the context of multinational communications (e.g., what issues may emerge in different countries/regions).
• References (both in-text citations and references including a final reference list).
– References must be in APA 7th ed
– Any materials used in this assignment must be acknowledged and appropriately
referenced.

topics, including:
Building a case for a more pro-active use of multimedia, including 2 social media platforms by the
organisation; discussing advantages and potential
disadvantages of social media platform/s; feasible
recommendations on how best to implement multimedia/social media; highlight and discuss key trends,
messages and themes of multi-media/social media
platform use, in large organisations, and how these
relate to the theories and models of
communications.
Criterion 2 – 15 marks
Delivery of Presentation.
Demonstrates confidence, suitable pace, tone, and
appropriate non-verbal communication and
engagement of audience.
Demonstrates knowledge of presentation material.
Your group communicates the topics
covered in the ‘Criteria’ column in a
manner which is very clear, highly
persuasive and appropriately detailed.
Your presentation uses language and
concepts which are targeted to your
audience and demonstrate a depth of
knowledge and consideration of the key
criterion requirements.
The group demonstrates excellence in all
facets of speaking and presenting. They
are confident, eloquent, and
knowledgeable in their delivery and the
audience is very engaged, for example
questions may be posed to the audience to
ensure engagement. The supporting
presentation material (e.g. PowerPoint
slides) are creatively presented,
grammatically correct and in-text citations
and references are relevant and perfectly
consistent with APA 7 ed style.
