Our company will be producing Molded Paper Products that can be used to serve or hold food (Cups, Bowls, plates, serving trays, and carry out food containers). Target Consumers: restaurants, coffee shops, individual consumers Production and Raw Materials Our product would be created using thermoformed fiber which is a newer form of producing paper products. The process creates products with thin walls and can appear to be plastic. Materials used for producing the product: x Natural Cellulose Fibers (Pulp) o Can be created using wood, wastepaper, field crop fiber and/or old clothing x Fillers o Calcium carbonate to improve brightness x Laminate Bioplastic o To make the products water and oil resistant x Processor x Product Packaging Manufacturing Location We would be producing our products in Brandon, Manitoba. Brandon is a mid-continent location located on the trans-Canada highway. It has the lowest manufacturing cost in Canada based on a report by accounting firm KPMG (Competitive Alternatives study provided independent analysis of the major costs and other factors that impact site location decisions.). Brandon also has the lowest electricity rates across Canada, and the city has no municipal business tax. Globally, Canada has the second lowest business costs, and is the 8th largest paper producing country in the world.
