Subject:Evolution of Digital Communications (1970-Present)

Your role in the project:I will be covering the 1980s. With a focus on Cyber security, intelligence, with a minor focus on commercial and everyday use with a dash of pop culture. The intent of our project is to identify how digital communications have evolved as a result of innovation and application. I will be taking an in depth look at how commercially created products led the way for military and government organizations such as the FBI and CIA for the rampant spending that is modern day government contracting. This is an exciting topic to cover that also contains many amazing pop culture references. One of my favorites is the television show The Greatest American Hero about a superhero and his FBI friend fighting the KGB with advanced cyber intelligence but communicating via pagers. My secondary role in the project is to assist John in the development and editing of the slides and coordination of group members.

How you feel about team projects, and why?I personally really dislike group projects and prefer to just take the brunt of a project on by myself. The biggest struggle I find with projects like this is communication. Sometimes its a struggle to get everyone on the same page and schedule. If I cant physically see what you are talking about or explain myself in person I struggle immensely. The career field I am choosing to go into requires alot of distanced collaboration and I see this project as an environment to develop my team player skills. In the military one thing I had an issue with as a leader was developing talent and not just putting my best players where I needed for sake of the mission. As I grow within STEM and as a person I hope to learn how to be a better teammate.
