Part A – Assessing Healthcare Use
In this part, you will collect data, analyse data, and create graphs that will be used in part B of this activity.
Items to submit for Part A:
· Electronic versions of the six to eight surveys in a digital format.
· A spreadsheet with all the information from the surveys entered
· Statistical analysis (mean, median and mode for the questions)
· Fully labelled graphs showing each question
· A digital document containing a statement describing which age group was surveyed and conclusions drawn from the survey findings
This part of the unit assessment will focus on healthcare access for Canadians in one of the three demographic age ranges during the age of fertility 18- 40 years, middle ages 41 -65 years, and retirement ages over the age of 65 years. You will gather raw data from twenty surveys from one of the three specified demographics. Questions will include:
1. What is your age?
2. Number of times, on average, you have sought medical assistance (which includes questions about a medical condition to getting actual help from a medical practitioner) in the past six months?
3. How often in the last six months have you been ill but not sought medical assistance?
4. How often have you missed work in the last six months due to personal illness?
5. The number of different prescription medications being taken during the past six months?
6. The number of over-the-counter drugs taken during the past six months?
7. Aside from medical assistance, what other methods do you use to prevent illnesses? Please list all methods.
8. Aside from medical assistance, what other methods do you use to combat illness (after you become ill)? Please list all methods.
Input all information collected from the twenty surveys in a spreadsheet and analyse the data. Using the spreadsheet program create graphs (multiple graphs) and perform a statistical analysis on the data (mean, median and mode).

Part B – Reporting Results
This part of the activity will focus on the transfer of your findings in Part A to a real-life application of statistical findings.
Items to submit for Part B:
· Newspaper article 200 words in length;
· Two advertisements (related to the article topic); and
· A graph based on the data collected from Part A related to the article written.
Write a front page for a newspaper where you comment on the health care use for your chosen population (from Part A). Include two advertisements that relate to the health care use for your chosen population and that would also be of interest to your chosen population. Hint: Using programs such as Microsoft Publisher reduces the time with document creation because ready-made templates are easily accessible.
The subject of the story is the information collected from the interviews. The article should be 200 words in length and include a graph created from a spreadsheet program that represents a piece of data referred to in your article.
This is a multi-layered assignment and I suggest you work through all of the content and get started as soon as possible.
