OBJECTIVE

In this paper, you will consider the behavioral similarities and differences between Neandertal and anatomically modern humans to evaluate a claim that the world would be very different today if it were populated by Neandertals, not modern humans.

PROMPT

Penny Spikins argues that if Neandertals (H. neanderthalensis) had become the dominant hominin species (while, presumably H. sapiens became extinct) that the world would be very different than it is today. She supports this claim by discussing the ways Neandertal behavior differs from modern Homo sapiens.

I take plagiarism and other forms of academic dishonesty very seriously. Not only must you properly cite the sources of your information, you must also make sure that your ideas are expressed in your own words (unless you are quoting directly, which I encourage you to avoid). If you are concerned, you can check your paper when you upload it – Turnitin will evaluate it for its “originality” and let you know if you’ve come too close to using someone else’s words.

Your essay must be double-spaced.

  • Papers should be 1000 (minimum) – 1250 words in length.
