Hello all,
I am happy to see that some people have already started to submit their research papers in the shell. A quick reminder that your powerpoint needs to be uploaded in the Module 8 discussion by Sunday night. This will give your classmates the appropriate time to look at your presentations and give the responses that are required for that discussion.
A couple of things as papers are coming my way.
PAPERS MUST BE IN MLA FORMAT
Many of the critiques I graded (and will finish grading today) were not in the appropriate format. Indent your paragraphs. Double-space the paper. No extra lines of space between paragraphs. Don’t lose easy points. You have been pointed to a plethora of resources throughout these weeks to show you how to do this. Please use them.
DO NOT WRITE THIS PAPER IN A SINGLE PARAGRAPH
If I get a research paper that isn’t separated into multiple paragraphs, I likely won’t read it. I will ask you to revise it for a reduced grade. And, again, indent your paragraphs. This may sound like a ridiculous request in a college course, and this doesn’t apply to the majority of you, but someone does it every semester.
THE CONTENT OF THE PAPER HAS A 5 PAGE REQUIREMENT
This means that the Works Cited page does not count toward the page count. If your document is 5 pages long, and the last page is works cited, you actually gave me a 4 page paper. Meaning your document, if done properly, should have a minimum of 6 pages: 5 for the discussion of your research, and 1 for your works cited.
If you have already submitted your paper and you have discovered that you have committed one of the above sins, you have until the deadline of Sunday night to submit a revision. I would then ignore the first submission like it never happened.
Have a wonderful weekend.
