You will create two ads. The ads will be a print ad and a radio spot. My on campus advertising class is doing their midterm project for a local company Quiznos. You can use this company or any company/product of your choice, it can be local or national, real or fictitious. The ads should have the same theme, same target market. You should start this by deciding on the project theme and the target market….the group of consumers you are hoping to buy your product. This project is due 10/31 by 11pm. Project specifics. You will create a 30 or 60 second radio spot PLUS a print ad (magazine or newspaper). You have created a logo for the homework #2 plus you’ve written a radio spot, so you should all know how to create words with graphics on a computer like you did in the logo assignment and a radio spot like you will soon be doing for chicken feet assignment. The print ad…..should have a headline, graphic, body copy, slogan, logo, etc. These are general should haves. You should have a strong headline, strong graphics, slogan, logo, body copy, etc, the benefits of the business, etc. The print ad should also have a border. Use creative/unique font in some of the ad, where you want the words to stand out. If you use creative/unique font for all of the ad then the type is no longer creative/unique. The font/typestyle gives the ad personality. Under the lecture notes folder I will be giving you notes for test 2 and also project notes. The radio spot….should have a strong opening, saying the name of the company several times throughout the ad, including address, benefits and a memorable closing, which is called a “call to action”. You could have a narrator or dialogue between 2 people or more. You might want to include music or SFX, (sound effects) I think it makes it more interesting. You should type it in two columns like the example I gave you for Chicken Feet. Write at the top of the ad if it 30 or 60 seconds. Look at a newspaper or magazine for ads that you like, really study them, and also listen to radio commercials and analyze the ones you like and why you like them. Remember in addition to advertising creatives you are also consumers. Any questions let me know. Make both the radio spot and the print ad for the same company, you get to choose, it could be a product or a business. The ads should have a common theme, and the same slogan. You will be creating an ad campaign. So if your target market is women ages 30-50 then both ads should have the same target market.
