Borrowers Data Assessment
By analyzing the Kiva CSV files, I can deduce that the borrowers are interested in learning about
and comprehending the procedures and requirements for borrowing money. They also want to know
what requirements must be met in order to receive funding on the platform. The cities with lenders
will be of interest to the borrowers as well, since this may work in their favor. The data columns
from the CSV that will be most useful to borrowers include location of the borrower, time of
borrowing, as well as the amount borrowed. The interface needed for this will be rather simple and
simply show the information that the borrowers will need to know. Many different people will make
use of the system. Lenders and borrowers will both make use of the technology. Kiva will be able to
monitor system activity once the system has an administration component. Every application user
must have their individual system interface, according to the design requirement.
Borrowers Stories
The first user narrative I chose to examine was Tywon’s. He is a black small business entrepreneur
who needs assistance raising money for his enterprise to purchase frozen food cold storage. People
are drawn to Tywon because he is a black businessman who needs assistance growing his enterprise.
I looked into Coldhubs narrative as my second subject. A tiny business in Nigeria called Coldhubs
is asking for funding to buy refrigerated vehicles so that it can transport frozen food without it
spoiling. They are unique since they are a locally owned Nigerian business.
I notice a pattern after looking at all of these articles. Most people who want to invest in a business
require a cause they can support or an endeavor they wish to support. I can tell that people want to
know the gender and salary of the people they are sponsoring because there are so many small, black-
owned businesses on this site. It appears that those who attempt to assist others want to determine
whether they have any traits with the people they are assisting. Since more people seem to desire to
assist smaller firms than larger ones, it also appears to be vital to know whether a small or large
business needs money.
Recommendation on Borrowers
Considering the user stories I’ve read, the user’s race, gender, age, and an explanation of the task at
hand would all need to be included in the wireframe of a user story. All of this information appears
to be mentioned in the descriptions of the majority of user tales. But by including a field that the user
must fill out with this data, we enable the lenders to more precisely look for persons they wish to
assist. Additionally, by including these text boxes for the borrowers, more lenders will discover their
tale and be more motivated to assist them. These additional elements to the wireframe are crucial
since they enable the borrower to confirm that they have recorded the most crucial information and
enable the lender to locate the individuals they are looking for.
Lenders Data Evaluation
A The Kiva application’s lender wants to be able to look up borrowers and view the repayments that
they have made. We must examine the loan csv file in order to enable this for the lender. Particularly,
the loan’s name, details, financed amount, length of the repayment period, and loan amount. The
lender will be able to see all the borrowers, what they need a loan for, the loan amount, and how
frequently they are paid back for the loan with the help of this information. We must think about
what lenders want in order to create a decent interface for them. As a result, the lenders must provide
a home screen with search and payment buttons. The lender will use these two buttons frequently,
therefore they ought to be easy to see and locate. The various users will be of all racial and gender
backgrounds who desire to assist those who are similar to them but are in worse financial positions.
