Essay 3 Choose three of the following authors and consider the elements of poetry. Focus your essay on how you can use—or not use—those elements in your writing. Incorporate in your essay a minimum of three secondary sources with in-text documentation and a Works Cited page in the MLA style. (100 points) Here are the authors to choose from: •Anne Bradstreet •Emily Dickinson •John Donne •T S Eliot •Robert Frost Weekly Essay Guidelines and Grading Criteria All essays must be posted to both the Discussion Board and the View/Complete Assignment link. All essays are due on Wednesday of the week assigned. All essays must be Microsoft Word, RTF, or PDF. Font must be Arial or Times New Roman and 12-point type for the text. Double-space all essays. Essays 1, 2, 3, and 4 must be a minimum of three pages double-spaced. Essay 5 must be a minimum of six pages double-spaced. Each essay must have a cover page, which includes the title of the essay, your name, and the date. This page does not count in the total number of pages. Essays 2, 3, 4, and 5 must have a Works Cited page in MLA format. This page does not count in the total number of pages. •Essay 2 must utilize a minimum of two sources. One source must be your textbook. •Essays 3 & 4 must utilize a minimum of three sources. One source must be your textbook. •Essay 5 must utilize a minimum of four sources. One source must be your textbook. Essay Grading Criteria: •Essays that do not meet the minimum pages required will have 10 points deducted. •Essays that do not utilize a minimum of the required sources (see above) and/or are not documented MLA style will have 10 points deducted. One source must be your textbook. •Essays that have more than 3 grammatical errors will have 5 points deducted.
