Short Paper: Planning a Research Project
During this course you will prepare and submit a number of short papers on a series of topics posed by the instructor. These papers are an opportunity for you to demonstrate understanding of concepts drawn from the module. You must support your position using appropriate sources that are properly cited using APA formatting.
The short paper activity for this module is a revision of a specific business communication message.
Message Strategies: Reporting Results and Conclusions
You and a team of researchers have just finished collecting data for a study examining customer satisfaction at the San Francisco International Air Port. According to the San Francisco International Airport, the data set contains “data pertaining to customer demographics and satisfaction with Airport facilities, services, and initiatives. The current data was collected in May 2016 through interviews with 3,087 customers in each of SFO’s terminals and boarding areas.” In the following document, you will find a copy of the survey that was handed out along with a basic summary of the results found.
For this assignment, you will write an executive summary explaining the results along with specific recommendations and conclusions.
You must follow the following format and guidelines for all short paper assignments:
1. Title Page: Include your name. the paper title, course title, instructor’s name, and date.
2. Introduction: Discuss the purpose of the paper in succinct, declarative sentences. The introduction should offer a preview of the paper and its value, and be based upon the concepts studied in the course.
3. Content: Present relevant and legitimate information to support your purpose or argument and display evidence of an in-depth analysis of the topic.
4. Conclusion: This should be a summative paragraph which includes what you learned from rewriting the message.
5. References: A minimum of one reference must be used to support your discussion. Document all sources according to APA style.
Your paper should be submitted as a Word document ( , docx or .rtf) file and adhere to the following guidelines:
· Be 3-4 pages in length (not including the title and the reference pages).
· Be double-spaced, in Arial or Times New Roman font, with a font size between 10 and 12 point.
· The margins should not exceed 1″ on all sides.
