General rules for writing researched based essays.
1. Do not ever, under any circumstances, use Wikipedia. It is unreliable and unverifiable. You may consult Wikipedia and use their bibliography as a starting off point.
2. Do not ever, under any circumstance, use “texting” to pass for the English language. For example, “U” for you, or “R” for are.
3. Do not use contractions when writing papers. Always write out “they are” instead of “they’re” or “do not” rather than “don’t.”
4. Always know when to footnote and when not to. Use footnotes when using a direct quote from a source. Also, use a footnote is paraphrasing a large chunk of information from a source. When in doubt, cite it.
5. Always remember that, thanks to Google, “lifted” material is extremely easy to catch.
