Answer the following in your cluster: Discuss the necessary elements of an effective program plan from the initial idea through the evaluation stage. What elements are essential to all programs? What special considerations might be necessary?

Arrive at a consensus and produce a list that identifies 5 to 10 elements (such as a budget) that are essential to an effective program plan. Essential in this case means that a program cannot effectively operate without these elements.

Have one member of your cluster post your group’s final list by Sunday, 2/12, with the title of the post “Cluster One’s List of Essential Elements.”

Weekly Overview

 

This week’s readings provide real-world applications for program plans, including model program plans and practical considerations students might face when creating program plans. Students work in clusters to discuss the elements of an effective program plan. They also make revisions to their Scenario Evaluation Plan from Week Five.

On that day, I will also post three discussion threads in which students may begin discussion. Review the important elements identified by your cluster and the other clusters. Refine your list to include what you feel are the five most essential elements of an effective program. Choose one of the three model programs from Ch. 7 in your text. Does the model program address all of the elements you identified as essential to a program plan? Explain how it does or does not meet these expectations.
