Recognize the overall knowledge management processes, concepts, goals and strategies within the
context of organization.
Describe how valuable individual, group and organizational knowledge is managed throughout the
knowledge management cycle.
Define the different Knowledge types and explain how they are addressed by knowledge management
in different business environments.
Demonstrate effective knowledge management skills to utilize knowledge management tools for the
benefits of the organization.
Demonstrate ability to work with others effectively as a team member in knowledge management
projects, related to case studies.
Assignment 3: (10 Marks)
Imagine that you are the knowledge management team leader in your organization, and you have been
given the responsibility to prove knowledge management as an important initiative for the benefit of
the organization. Write a detailed report with the following headings.
Assignment Title: Knowledge management systems in organizations.
The Assignment must highlight the following.
❖ Briefly describe knowledge management. (1 Mark)
❖ Describe in detail the major knowledge management issues that you would like to address by
implementing knowledge management systems in your organization. (2.5 Marks)
❖ Describe in detail the various tools and techniques that you would like to use most for capturing tacit and
explicit knowledge. (2.5 Marks)
❖ Discuss in general the key organizational culture enablers and the key obstacles to effective knowledge
sharing and KM. (2 Marks)
❖ What suggestions/recommendations would you like to provide to the Saudi organizations in general for
improving knowledge management systems. (2 Marks)
