We will treat the film as a text, and “reading” it will give us insight into the Balinese gamelan tradition and ensemble called “Gong Kebyar.” Pay close attention and take notes on instruments, music characteristics and cultural beliefs and values specific to the Balinese Gong Kebyar. Then answer the following questions below.

2. Define the term banjar and explain its importance in Balinese society. (5 points)

3. Explain one important observation you can make about Balinese Gong Kebyar. (5 points)
