Majore Software Engineering-The course is Software Architecture

 

Choose one of the following two options for your term paper:

Option 1. Choose any topic in the area of Software Design and Architecture. Submit a short proposal as soon as possible )Your proposal should clearly show what you are planning to do (about a page –double spaced would do it.) You are encouraged to emphasize depth over breadth, so do not attempt coverage of too many diverse areas.

Option 2. Find an article from a technical journal, carefully summarize it (using your own words), and comment on the subject. Submit a copy of the article with your proposal (which should include your name and information about the article) .

Your summary (excluding your comments) should be roughly one third of the article (e.g., if article is 9 pages long, your summary should be about 3 pages. Your comments can be as long as you wish.

Option 3. Work with me on an original paper. I’ll try to submit the final work for possible publication. If you are interested in this option, your proposal should include your background and any specific interest in software architecture.

Your final completed report (for optins 1 and 2) . Use effective organization, correct English grammar and punctuation, acknowledge references where appropriate, and use a style and level appropriate for a technical reader.

Minimum requirements: (for option 1)

1. 1 page – title, your name, course, date, abstract

2. 1 page – table of contents

3. 8 – 15 pages – text of report, introduction, body in sections, summary; typed,

double-spaced

4. 1 page – bibliography/references

Your term paper is worth 20 points and will be evaluated and graded as follows:

1. Proposal 3 points

2. Satisfying minimum requirements (given above) 2 points

3. Content (must be “average” or better) 12 points

4. Style/Format/Spelling/Grammar* 3 points

Total 20 pints
