  1. For this assignment, identify one person you know is a manager according to the definition identified in the text. Conduct an interview with that person.
  2. During the interview, ask questions you believe will uncover the manager’s style(s) of leadership.
  3. In writing the Interview Report,identify the manager’s title and the role they play in the organization,identify the questions you asked,identify the manager’s answers,analyze the answers in light of the three basic types of leadership discussed in the text, anddraw a conclusion about the manager’s leadership style: autocratic, democratic, or free-rein.

Be sure to define any terms you use that will help the reader understand the results of the interview. Your report should be at least 500 words and submitted as a Microsoft Word document in size 12 Times New Roman font. While approximate word counts are suggested, your focus should be on thoroughly addressing the assignment requirements than meeting a specific word count.

Criteria Ratings Pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeContentFull credit requires that the report follows all guidelines contained in the assignment. There must be thorough responses to each responsibility with no ambiguity in the language used to respond. A submission that generally conforms to these requirements but is missing one element of the assignment will receive 25 points. There will be additional points deducted for missing information beyond this threshold. A total of 5 points will be deducted for every day a submission is late unless the student has received prior approval from the instructor.

30 pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeOrganizationTo receive full-credit the report must contain a clear and concise introduction as well as paragraphs logically organized and introduced by a clearly written topic sentence. The report concludes with a short paragraph summarizing its message. A submission that generally conforms to these requirements but is missing one element related to this criterion will receive 9 points. There will be additional points deducted for inappropriate structure beyond this threshold.

10 pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeAPA Citation StyleAny information that is not common knowledge or the writer’s personal or professional reflections or opinion must be cited using APA guidelines (i.e., in-text citation; reference page). One point will be deducted for each missing citation or reference.

4 pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeGrammar, Spelling, PunctuationA report with only stray typos as “errors” will receive full credit. Reports with errors, but ones that do not interrupt the flow of the analysis will receive 4-5 points. There will be additional points deducted for errors beyond this threshold.
