Topic of Discussion
Many technologies are available for creating dynamic websites. The most common are
ASP.NET, JSP (JavaServer Pages), ColdFusion, and PHP. However, PHP and MySQL
have become the de facto standards for creating dynamic, database-driven web.
PHP (short for Hypertext Preprocessor) is the most widely used open source and
general-purpose server-side scripting language used mainly in web development to
create dynamic websites and applications. It was developed in 1994 by Rasmus Lerdorf.
A survey by W3Tech shows that almost 79% of the websites in their data are developed
using PHP.
In your words, discuss the meaning of “Dynamic website”, and how does it differ from
“Static website”? Then, explain what can you do with PHP?
