will be two parts to this assignment. Part 1 will focus on completing the detailed time duration estimates and identifying the resource roles needed for the project. Part 2 will focus on sequencing the project work packages, creating a network diagram, and creating a Gantt chart. You may use MS Excel or MS Project to complete parts one and two of the assignment.

You will be creating time estimates, a Gantt chart, and a network diagram for your project.

Part 1:

Start with the WBS you created for your chosen assignment. Remember to use a time duration estimate technique to achieve your durations. You should complete a duration estimate for each activity, summarize the duration at the work package level, and provide a final duration estimate (summary of work packages) for the project. Durations should be shown on the WBS using a start and end date/time. You will need your time duration estimates for Part 2 to create the Gantt chart and the network diagram.

Part 2:

If you build your time duration estimates in MS Project, the Gantt chart and network diagrams are built automatically. Be careful to check your dependencies (links) between your activities in MS Project, otherwise, you may have a Gantt chart and network diagram that does not correctly reflect your project. If using MS Excel, you can use the template here to complete your time estimates and Gantt chart. Your network diagram can be created using MS PowerPoint. Use shapes and arrows in PowerPoint to create your network diagram at the work package level.
