Project Description
Create either an infographic, video or wikihow/wikipedia/blog entry aimed at students between 4th and
7th grade that covers the topic chosen by the student.
Learning Outcomes
The endocrine system and how it is connected to behavior are complex topics to approach, particularly when
your audience has different levels of understanding of the topic. This project will allow you to:
+ Reflect, and review the complex information contained in books, scientific articles and other formal sources.
+ Transform your research into meaningful content, using your own words for a specific audience.
Timeframe
Jan 31st: Topic assignment in class: students will sign up for one of the topics given in a google doc
list.
Feb 7th Add format chosen for the topic and add a one paragraph description (outline) of their project
to the google doc
Feb 19th Final product uploaded to blackboard.
Format
Individual project.
Video 1.5-2 minutes long
Infographic ~200 words
Blog entry 700-1000 words + 2-4 meaningful images
Hormonal Pathways
Project One
Content must be uploaded to blackboard in a format that is readable without the need for special
software. Approved formats for videos are .mov, .mp4, .avi for infographics: , .ppt For blog entries:
, For interactive infographics: verified link
Grading and Feedback
Total points for project 40pts
ccuracy of Information 15 pts
Referencing Sources 5 pts
Language audience appropriate 10pts
Engaging format 10 pts
Evaluation will be performed after the final version of the project is uploaded to blackboard. However, if
requested by the student, the professor can give feedback to draft versions.
Specific Rubric can be found on Blackboard
