Project Proposal

Project Topic: Sudoku Solver

Project Description (approx. 1-2 paragraphs):

The user should fill a 9 by 9 cell grid such that the numbers 1 to 9 appear once only in each row, column and box. A box is a 3 by 3 grid of which there are 9 in the main grid. 

Briefly (1-2 sentences) describe how you will incorporate the following programming elements:

· File Input (Output is optional)

The program will load data from a file.

· Vectors or Matrices

I will create a matrix 9 by 9.

· Programmer-Defined Functions

I will create a function to test the program.

If you are implementing a game or other existing program that has existing standards, are there any attributes that you will be changing or not be including. (For example, if you implement Battleship and only intend to implement 4 ships instead of 5, list those changes here.)

The only algorithm that is NOT allowed for this is 81 nested for loops to try every possible combination.
