Under the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA), employers can require their employees to sign mandatory (forced) arbitration clauses in their contracts.

How does FAA mandatory arbitration law affect the average employee? Explain how these mandatory arbitration clauses are used in employment contracts. Identify one state which has enacted laws to prevent the use of mandatory arbitration clauses in employment contracts. Provide an explanation of the the state’s statute.

Do you agree or disagree with the idea of employers using forced arbitration in their contracts? Why or why not? Identify one other method to resolve disputes between an employer and employee.
