This assignment is designed to get you used to preparing proposal evaluation documents, and in using those documents to evaluate various vendor proposals.  This is a ‘common sense’ exercise, and there is no template in the book for you to use. 

Review the documents attached to this assignment, and the RFP from Assignment 6.  The documents attached to this assignment are the responses of the two companies to the RFP.

1. Use these documents, and the RFP Scoresheet below, to evaluate the responses.  You may modify the spreadsheet if you find it doesn’t do the job. 

2. Based on your evaluation, select a winning proposal.

Write a half-page executive summary, describing why you thought the winning proposal was best.

There’s two vendors: Merant and Ungine. Each one wrote a proposal. You should have a column on each one. When the requirement says something like “Supports Mac users” you read the two proposals and your remarks say something like (I am making this up, I don’t remember what the truth is):

Merant: Supports Mac OS X

Ungine: Supports Mac OS X but doesn’t support Safari browser

In your Executive Summary, you say:
