Identify the areas where improvements could have been made in the disaster plan.
Compare improvements for addressing the disaster from your Disaster Analysis Report with the improvements in emergency management technology and principles that are in effect today.
Explain how the differing needs of multicultural and special needs communities should be addressed.

Disaster event: Research and professional goals
The National incident management systems enable partners across different nations to work
together, ensuring they respond, protect against, recover from different disasters regardless of
the location, cause, complexity or size. FEMA coordinator manages NIMS and ensures that it
deals with emergencies effectively. FEMA regions are divided into different regions; they are
responsible for the different regions in the state. When somebody needs to make a legal
decision or a judgment, he should contact the FEMA regional National incident management
systems coordinator. This paper focuses on several regions, but the main one is California.
California comprises of the following regions; the coast, the mountains, the central valley, and
the deserts.
Over the years, California has faced many disasters that have cost the region a lot of money to
control them. Across California, thousands of people have died in wildfires. The state suffered a
deadly disaster on November 8th in Butte County, where the disaster killed 77 people and left
over ten thousand people homeless. The campfire is one of the deadliest and most destructive
wildfires that have taken place in the history of California (Maguiña, 2004). More than a
thousand people are unaccounted for in the campfire disaster. It is very hard to account for the
number of people who were dead because many were unrecognizable. Many people lost their
property and loved ones, many who lost their property slept in the parking lots because the
states had not planned well on this kind of disaster.
The Federal emergency management agency (FEMA) had allocated very few resources
towards helping California to coup up with the California campfire. FEMA has only issued 1.5
million dollars to help in campfires. However, the allocation is less compared to what is given to
agencies dealing with hurricanes. The campfire had the highest number of causalities and
deaths; however, if FEMA had allocated enough money to fight wildfires, the disaster would
have been neutralized in the early stages. Studying the disaster will help to achieve my goals. In
some instances, the disaster was not handled in not a human way. Several of the regions
affected by the campfire did not ensure their citizens are protected as the constitution states.
The states are responsible for the loss of property and the lives of the people. This will propel
me into law and enhance my career goals.

Nutrition and Fitness – Goals
Personal fitness goals
1. Improved flexibility and balance: Improved flexibility will facilitate the integrity of the joints
which will reduce likely injuries to the joints and to the muscles
2. Focus on healthy habits rather than results: Establishing healthy habits such will facilitate the
ability to enhance personal health status (Manore et al, 2018). Healthy habits help to improve
the immune system of the body.
3. Be consistent: consistency is an important aspect when it comes to fitness. Establishing
consistency will allow me to create a culture of exercise leading to a routine which is healthy for
the body.
Nutrition goals
1. Strong emphasis on a balanced diet: A balanced diet is a combination of food that provides
the body with various nutrients (Higgins, 2016). Taking a balanced diet helps to improve the
health of the body to reduce the likelihood of getting sick.
2. Improve culinary skills: This is a second nutritional goal that I chose to achieve. Improving my
culinary skills will enable to prepare meals accordingly which will preserve nutrients as well as
ensure it is balanced at all times.
3. Never avoid breakfast: Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day as it provides
the body with a nutritional tone for the day (Manore et al, 2018). Having a healthy breakfast
provides the body with enough glucose to meet the energy requirements for the day.
Steps to accomplish each goal
Personal fitness goals.
1. Enroll in a gym to work with a personal trainer to increase flexibility (Manore et al, 2018).
2. Engage a medical professional to assess personal health status.
3. Develop a schedule and adhere to it.
Nutrition goals
1. Read widely about nutrition components of various types of food.
2. Buy a book about meal preparation as well as engage a personal chef for guidance
3. Make preparations for breakfast the day before to avoid inconveniences in the morning such
as lateness (Watterson, 2016).
Expected results
1. One of the expected results is high flexibility and strength of the bones which will reduce likely
injuries to the bones and the muscles.
2. Taking a balanced diet will as well improve the immune system of the body which will reduce
the likelihood of infections by disease (Watterson, 2016).
3. An increase in personal confidence due to high esteem as a result of having a healthy and
strong body.
Resources to sustain positive changes
1. A gym facility to be attended at least 5 times a week is one of the resources that will help
sustain changes by creating discipline in exercise (Manore et al, 2018).
2. Exercise and health books are an additional resource that will enable me to sustain positive
change.
