In the News “HR Trends in 2012” Review
For this assignment the chosen article is a current in the news article called, “HR Trends in 2012.” For students to relate outside information with school referenced material may be difficult, but this is an even more effective way to practice relating our knowledge. In order to advance in one’s Human Resource career, there is so much to learn every day. The changes are in reference to the whole new arraignment of employment law regulation that have been created over the past year. This article touches a little bit of what we have learned in each area. Many company budgets have substantially tightened, it will be essential for HR managers to use talent analytics which helps strategic planning and of recruiting employee’s of value. For example, this allows companies to forecast future leadership in employee’s. In addition for HR the use of social media and marketing are important part in communicating and building the employer brand names. This information is relevant to the course because as we speak of changes in trends this coming year there will be a trend in growing need for diversity in talent pools that go beyond ethic background, or age. (Hall, 2012) Although this article was short, it gave good information on how this coming year will be important in seeking out talent from the younger generation. As we consider generation X and Z these offer a whole new set of skills that will bet organizations in the future.(Hall, 2012) The management message that came from this article, that consistently one needs to manage the employee’s, and enable them to have competencey and power. By eliminating part of the workforce, and replacing with new people, helps ensure a more successful future.
