Imagine you are now the parent of a sixteen-year-old son/daughter, whose requests for various items, you feel, have become more and more extravagant. When you spoke to him or her about this, your son/daughter explained to you that he/she is finally part of one of the most popular groups at school, and that the way he/she can fit in with this crowd is by buying the kind of expensive clothes and electronics that all members of the crowd have. Instead of repeating this same conversation, you decide to write your son/daughter a letter, in which you try to explain your concerns for him/her.
