Journal Assignment: Epistemological Timeline
After viewing the sample epistemological timeline presentation, create your own timeline and post it. In creating your own timeline, answer the following questions:
- What world was I born into? What place? What time?
- How did this world shape me? How did it shape what I know, who I know and how I know?
- What family was I born into? How did it shape what I know, who I know and how I know?
- What were my beliefs, experiences and relationships to school? How did school shape how I know and what I know.
- What epistemologies have I experienced?
- How did I come to know disability? What shaped how I know and what I know?
Here is a brief outline: I was born in 1977 on the west side of Chicago, il.
I am a kind-hearted person who grew up in a religious household. I try to think before I speak and remember that everyone was not born with the same upbringing. In the 90s, I saw a lot of drug usage among my family members as well as my neighbor’s family members. I remember seeing people walk around talking to themselves or yelling at the air. This is what I found out as I got older was: mental health.
