1. Can you find a movie or television show that has licensed a popular song for use in the program but didn’t use the original artist’s version? What did they use as an alternative? Also try and find a motion picture that used the catalog of one artist for the songs but had various artists record them as cover versions instead of using the original recordings. Can you find an example of a motion picture where a song appeared in the original motion picture but not on the DVD or home video version or the VOD version of that motion picture? Can you find out why was it not included? Hint: there was definitely one on “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”

2. Can you find other examples of songs that became motion pictures (note: there is a distinction between someone using the title of a well-known song as the title of a picture, “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” which used the Rolling Stones but only tangentially used the song in the plot and “Ode To Billy Joe” which took the song and used the story of the song to create the movie.

3. What is the Soundtrack album with the most certified sales of all time? Where does it rank among the all-time best-selling recordings? What was the best-selling recordings of 2021? Are any soundtracks among the best-selling albums of the past three years?
