Wedding events have changed since the 1960’s. Many couples think of big events only, with no culture values in them. People concentrate on the expensive side, just to gain big words for their weddings events. This end up harassing their families and friends, as they are force to dig deep in their pockets to finance their weddings, forgetting that after wedding there is life, called marriage life. Some of the traditional values that are no longer obeyed or considered are: Brides these days buy themselves their gowns unlike before when the father of the bride was the one responsible for wedding gown bills; the bridegroom is the one who proposes to the bride, but in traditional values, the bridegroom’s father was the one responsible to ask for hand in marriage from the bride’s parents; the tin cans that were tied to the brides call after wedding, is no longer used; bride’s mother hardly sits next to the room’s father as it is the tradition; the kind of food shared in the wedding no longer has the traditional meaning it was meant to hold, as people are now used to modernize and fast foods, even they are scenarios of chips and fish in some weddings. In conclusion, couples should retain their traditional values, and save their friends from undergoing much struggle, trying to fund their weddings, as what is important in a wedding is the life after.
