Debates on Organizational Power and Politics Week 3 – Discussion 2

On Day 1 of this week, your instructor will post an Announcement assigning you to one of the following two groups: Positive Group or Negative Group. 

Positive Group Initial Post:

• What are the sources of power often seen in organizations? Be sure to give the definition of each source of power.
• What are positive impacts on an organization when its members exercise power and play political games within Mintzberg’s Political Game Playing framework?  Give examples and/or your personal experiences regarding positive impacts.

Guided Response:  In your responses to classmates, select two classmates who were assigned the negative group.  Respond to their posts using at least 100 words by Day 7.  No video is required for your responses.
