1. Student . Xintong,
The video presents a critical analysis of the current dietary guidelines and practices,
focusing on the impact of processed foods on our health. The video delves into the
origins of our beliefs about food and nutrition and how they have been shaped over
time. It challenges the conventional wisdom about a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet
and the belief that all calories are equal. The experts in the video offer a compelling
case for the importance of reducing processed foods, added sugars, and refined
carbohydrates in our diet, while increasing our intake of whole foods, healthy fats,
and fiber.
The video also highlights the power of food marketing and the influence of the food
industry on our food choices. It exposes the ways in which food companies use
deceptive marketing tactics to promote unhealthy products and how they exploit
vulnerable populations. The video also raises awareness about food deserts and the
lack of access to healthy food options in certain communities, which exacerbates
health disparities. Overall, the film provides an eye-opening perspective on the
impact of our food choices on our health and the environment. It underscores the
need for a paradigm shift in the way we think about food and nutrition and calls for
more transparency in food labeling and marketing practices.

The Carb Loaded Channel’s “The Pyramid Scheme Low Carb Documentary” examines the
connection between low-carb diets and pyramid scams. The marketing strategies, possible
dangers, and social effects of several low-carb diet strategies are legitimately raised in the film.
The documentary’s expert interviews, which offer a variety of viewpoints on low-carb diets, are
one of its strong points. This fair treatment invites viewers to assess the arguments of supporters
and opponents. The movie encourages a better knowledge of low-carb diets by illuminating
scientific information and potential hazards. Compelling is the video’s analysis of low-carb diet
advocates’ marketing techniques. By emphasizing the use of client testimonials and guarantees of
speedy results to lure clients, it draws comparisons to pyramid schemes. This investigation
makes people more aware of the possible exploitation of people seeking weight reduction
solutions. It’s crucial to remember that not all low-carb eating plans should be compared to
pyramid schemes. The film could ignore responsible supporters who value evidence-based
methods and aid people in reaching their health objectives. The movie loses a chance to
distinguish between unethical marketing strategies and proper techniques by generalizing lowcarb diets.
Another important topic covered in the film is low-carb diets’ effect on society. The documentary
worries about the possible impacts of banning or severely limiting entire dietary categories, such
as carbs. It highlights the danger of encouraging disordered eating habits and a poor connection
with food. In general, “The Pyramid Scheme Low Carb Documentary” challenges viewers to
assess the integrity of claims, strategies used in marketing, and potential dangers related to lowcarb diets. While the film raises legitimate questions about specific low-carb eating plans,
applauding those who put evidence-based methods first is essential. Viewers are urged to consult
knowledgeable healthcare experts before making dietary selections.

Globally, coral reefs are disappearing at an astronomical rate. To find out why the reefs
are vanishing and to unveil the undersea secret to the public, divers, photographers, and
scientists go on an ocean expedition. It tells the tale of a group of photographers,
biologists, and other professionals that stumble across and attempt to document one of
the biggest coral bleaching occurrences in the history of the planet. With contributions
from more than 30 nations, it took 3.5 years to produce and contains more than 500
hours of underwater video. In these years, heat stress brought on by climate change
caused 75% of corals to suffer or perish. If nothing changes, it is estimated that by 2034
there will be annual severe bleaching episodes and that by the end of the century every
reef in the globe would bleach. This is where the imagery in “Chasing Coral” goes from
intoxicating to chilling. Bleaching is a phenomenon where corals give up their vibrant
colour and become ghostly white, usually dying off soon after. When Orlowski and his
crew sail over living coral and then the images change to the mortuaries of bleached
coral, it’s like aerial views of Dublin or Salzburg morphing into pictures of bombed out
Dresden or Mosul.

“Chasing Coral” is a captivating documentary that highlights the urgent issue of coral
bleaching and its devastating impact on marine ecosystems. This is an important film that
sheds light on the alarming decline of coral reefs and the broader implications for marine
life and our planet. It serves as a wake-up call, urging audiences to take action and
recognize the urgent need to address climate change and protect our oceans.
After watching this movie I fully understand the importance of corals and hope the
government will take action to advocate for people to protect them. I am very happy to
have such a documentary, let us increase our respect and love for nature.

Adam Garske’s “How Designing Brand-New Enzymes Could Change the World” TED
Talk delves into a fascinating area of science that has the potential to transform a variety
of facets of our existence completely. Scientists have long been fascinated with
enzymes, the extraordinary catalysts that power various molecular activities. Garske’s
talk explores the idea of creating whole new enzymes and emphasizes the significance of
developing science in resolving urgent global problems. The molecular orchestrators
controlling vital activities in human bodies and the natural world are enzymes. The
potential for creating new enzymes brings up a world of possibilities. It has the potential
to be transformational to be able to design enzymes with specified activities and adapt
them to desired uses. It could cover essential topics like clean energy, pollution control,
and human health.
The potential for creating novel enzymes in renewable energy is among the most
interesting. Creating effective biofuel manufacturing techniques may need enzymes to
migrate away from fossil fuels. Researchers might help prevent climate change and
lessen our dependency on scarce resources by producing enzymes that break down
plant-based materials into useful energy sources. This path may significantly impact the
energy landscape throughout the world. Custom enzyme development has great
potential for cleaning up the environment. Enzymes might be specifically designed to
break down certain pollutants or poisons, revolutionizing the remediation of polluted
places. These synthetic enzymes might effectively break down hazardous compounds
and aid ecosystem restoration. This strategy may address environmental problems,
including oil spills, plastic waste, and industrial pollution, creating a cleaner and healthier
environment. Adam Garske’s TED Talk on creating novel enzymes sheds light on a
promising area of scientific inquiry. Engineered enzymes might significantly influence
everything from renewable energy sources to environmental cleanup and medical
advancements. But it is essential to go gradually, ensuring that strict safety precautions
and ethical concerns are kept throughout the procedure. The planet may see a
spectacular revolution propelled by the power of these specialized biological catalysts if
they are used responsibly.

Adam Garske’s TED talk demonstrated the importance of enzymes in our body as they
are produced in our body and act like a catalyst by accelerating chemical reactions.
Garske explained how designed enzymes will affect human health and the environment in
the years to come. Enzymes do not only play a role in the foods that we eat they are also
involved in everything from the health of an infant to attacking the biggest environmental
challenges. He also mentioned how there are teams that are dedicated to designing
enzymes to make drugs more efficient and with fewer toxic catalysts. One of the
examples he gave was the medication for type 2 diabetes, Januvia, is made partially with
enzymes.
After watching this video, I found it interesting to learn that the key enzyme is called
chymosin. I also enjoyed learning that enzymes bind into a protein called casein and they
speed up or slow down chemical reactions. The idea of having enzymes help digest the
plastic debris sounded like a good idea but then to think of all the wildlife these enzymes
can also compromise them. It was interesting to learn if we washed in cold water we
would save the emissions of 32 metric tons of CO2 each year but it takes designing an
enzyme to make these type of changes. Enzymes will really have more impact as they can
be edit and designed for specific functions.
