Build a virtual environment with 2 ESXi servers (H1, and H2), enable HA and clustering, and build 4 virtual machines as detailed below:

  • A, and B are on H1, and C, and D, are on H2
  • Each virtual machine should either have Windows or Linux O/S

Ensure that:

  • Clustering and HA are configured, and demonstrate that if one host is down, the VMs will automatically start on the second host.

Your grade will be based on the following:

  • Functioning system according to the above specifications
  • The quality of your demonstration (in addition you need to submit a high-level PPT presentation depicting your setup and design -4/5 slides are expected)

Option 2: 100%

This option consists of 2 components:

  1. Email the professor (by 11/13/23) two paragraphs explaining a relevant virtualization concept/topic/technology that you would like to use for your final presentation. The concept/topic/technology has to be a component of virualization (ex: memory balloning, etc) or an application of it, but it can not be something we already dsicussed in class.
  2. Present your topic as per the published schedule. For the final presrentation, you have 15-20 minutes to prestent your topic.

The presentation will be graded according to the following criteria:

  1. Relevance to virtualization 20%
  2. Quality of PPT 20%
  3. Technical depth of coverage and ability to respond to questions 40%
  4. Quality of presentation 20%

Remark: if you choose this option, then you need to work on this presentation individually.
