Directions from teacher: Answer the following questions thoroughly, underlining key words from the book. You may use the text; however, I want the majority of your answers to be in your own words. In other words, copying the answer will NOT earn you credit. Your answers should be approximately 1-2 pages each.

1. Explain Maslow’s heirarchies of needs, labeling and explaing each level, in your own words. THEN explain how the heirarchy can be used to enhance a persuasive speech. Use a specific example in your discussion.

2. Thoroughly compare/ contrast inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning, defining each term. THEN give an example of how each can be used in a persuasive message, making sure to explain your examples.

3. Discuss the three forms of rhetorical proof that Aristotle identified (ethos, logos, and pathos). How does each one contribute to a successful persuasive speech? Give an example of how each one would work in a persuasive speech.
