Strengths Assessment
My strongest trait that I can bring to any business is my ability to collaborate. I
actively search for touchstones with the people within my working sphere
despite traditional differences that might separate collaborators working
toward a common goal. This will allow me to succeed in what I believe has
become an increasingly team-based business model. I communicate clearly
and as shown through my work as chairwoman of the University of
Colorado’s student government Public Relations department I am selfmotivated,
responsible, and I am a leader who consciously forges strong
relationships with a wide variety of people. I am equally at home speaking at
conferences, classes, seminars or before government legislatures.
Secondly I have a practiced creativity. I am innately a creative person but I
believe that, like a second language, without practicing my creativity I will not
be able to keep current with my contemporaries or expand my own vision. I
routinely produce and show my artwork in galleries in Denver and I am an
active performing artist. As the owner of a small digital design business I
innovate, explore, and use all the tools available to me – in many cases this
includes traditional forms and methods of art. I am well versed in the
sculpture of wood, metals and mixed media as well as traditional handdeveloped
photographic processes. I delight in rendering illustration in a wide
variety of mediums including conte, charcoal, watercolor and pencil.
Finally I am strong in technical skills across a wide range of software
programs. These include print design applications such as Microsoft Office
(Word, Power Point, Excel), Adobe InDesign, Open Office and Adobe
Acrobat, and other graphic applications in the Adobe Suite (Photoshop,
Illustrator). I also know the digital design and movie making applications in the
Adobe Suite CS5; AfterEffects, DVD Studio Pro, iDVD, Bridge, Quicktime,
RealPlayer, DVD Player ,Final Cut Pro, and iMovie. I can edit and create in
sound applications such as Soundtrack Pro and GarageBand and can
program websites using WordPress, iWeb, FlashCS4 (and ActionScript),
FrontPage, HTML4, and CSS.

Job Requirements
TITLES: User Interface Designer; Experience Designer; Interaction Designer;
Information Architect; Social Interaction Designer; Interface Designer; User
Experience Designer; Interactive Systems Engineer and Kinetic User Interface
Designer.
METHODOLOGIES: Candidate should be able to apply various
methodologies of creating user interfaces including design research, research
analysis and concept generation, visualization, wireframing, envisioning
multiple design solutions, and affective processes in interaction design. To a
lesser extent, the candidate may be involved in prototype and usability
testing, implementation and system testing.
FIELDS: Interaction may be found in many areas including software
interfaces, (business) information systems, internet, physical products,
environments, services, and systems which may combine several of these.
SKILLS: Because of the wide breadth of field of these applications, the
candidate should know something of graphic design, programming,
information architecture, cognitive psychology, user testing, lab-based
research methods, instructional design and product design. All applicable
software programs as well as traditional art methods and materials should be
mastered.
The Candidate should have strong collaboration and communication skills as
well as proficient organizational skills in the area of documentation. The
candidate must be comfortable with the process behind producing scenarios, �
navigational structures, sitemaps, user flows, screen designs, interaction
models, functional templates and prototypes.
GOALS: The candidate should assure that the experience layers (structure,
behavior, presentation, and voice and tone) remain connected and under a
fresh and unified experience point of view that is based on customer needs
and goals (an iterative, user-centered design approach).
The candidate must also be comfortable leading a design team through the
design process as well as evangelizing for consumers and driving culture
change. There should be strong skills in the ability to have a sustained
attention to detail and innovation from concept to implementation.

Frog design is a free-thinking company that enphasises insight,
technology, inspiring and impact within a client-centered approach. The
process this company uses to design products mirrors my own:
analysis leads to insight which becomes ideas which in turn becomes
reality. Frog concentrates on looking at real people and how they
behave and act accordingly. Frog’s multidisciplinary process
works across a broad spectrum of industries which will offer me a more
fluid experience working with multiple accounts using different
methodologies – no boredom there. Being an international company
may give me the opportunity to travel or live abroad.

time-based user experiences. We work closely with engineering and
communication design teams to create integrated brand experiences.
Working for an established business will give stability while still offering
challenges to my creativity. The ‘postcard’ area of the website tells me
that they value a curious disposition and makes me feel that I may be

R/GA Is very focused on digital technology, leading-edge motion
graphics, live-action film, and video production – and this is exactly the
focus I’m interested in. I think that a company like this would be a good

this company has some very large and impressive clients that would be

Cypher13 makes fun and inspirational work in a WIDE variety of fields
and methods. They incorporate play into their design and that’s very
attractive. They have an interesting approach to interact with clients and �
they don’t discourage geekiness – which would certainly be a plus, for
me. The studio tour is whimsical and beautiful and I would enjoy
working in that office. They are involved in the community and they
incorporate outside hobbies and this makes for a good work/business

lot of ID and website work. The company is mostly men and I think it
would be fun to try to work in this environment – I get along well with
