Thismemorandum is a formal request for funds and approval to attend theInfoSec World Conference & Expo 2020 being held in Lake Buena Vista,FL. from June 22 – 24, 2020. This conference, which is designed forcybersecurity professionals, is produced by the CyberRisk Alliance andrun by the “industry’s leading experts, thought-leaders and innovators”(CyberRisk Alliance, n.d., During InfoSec section). This year’sconference will be held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, whichprovides a world-class conference and Expo venue.InfoSec World isattended by many cybersecurity and risk management industry leaders.This year’s conference has several tracks that attendees can focus theirattention on. Some of these tracks; Infrastructure & Operations,Privacy & Risk, Secure Design and Security Strategies, directlyaddress issues relating to the confidentiality, integrity andavailability of information assets, which is critical toPadgette-Beale’s business operations. The conference will also includekeynote briefings from several seasoned individuals in the cybersecurityfield. This includes Jamil Farshchi, the CISO of Equifax, JimmySanders, the Head of information Security for Netflix DVD, and MarkKelton, a retire Senior Executive of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Costs

Thefollowing costs, totaling $2826.38, will be incurred during travel andattendance at the InfoSec World Conference & Expo. Costs mayincrease as the date nears, so time should be considered of the essence.

Justification

Attendanceat the InfoSec World Conference will provide attendees many benefits.Attendees will be able to research and receive hands-on demonstrationson the latest technology trends and cybersecurity services andtechnologies at the 3-day Expo (CyberRisk Alliance, n.d., During InfoSecsection). The Expo will also provide ample time for networking withpeers and other industry representatives. In addition, conferencesessions will present opportunities for in-person training from industryexperts from leading technology firms across the globe. Moreover,attendees at InfoSec World earn up to 45 Continuing ProfessionalEducation (CPE) credits (CyberRisk Alliance, n.d., During InfoSecsection). The CPE credits count toward the necessary continuingeducation credits required for maintaining many industry standardcertifications, including my CompTIA Net + and Sec+ certifications. Thecosts associated with this conference will offset much of the costsassociated with taking expensive vendor-contracted classes at a latertime.
