Section One: What is distraction?
Distraction is an object or action that
moves us away from things we intended
or planed of doing.

Section Three : Internal Distractions
Internal distractions are your own thoughts and
emotions. These can include thoughts about
pressing responsibilities or pleasant things that
you’d rather be doing. This can also include
emotions about life circumstances, the task you
are working on, fears, and worries.
Section Four: Strategies to deal with Internal distractions
• Make a daily plan
• Manage your thoughts while studying
• Get enough rest!
• Set SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely)
• Engage in self-talk
• Practice self-regulation
Section Five: External distractions
External distractions are ones that originate
outside of us. Things like technology (phones,
social media, websites, YouTube, video games,
Netflix), other people, or noises around us.
Section Six: Strategies to deal with Externals distractions
• Designate a specific area as a place of study.
• Find a quit place and designated for your study.
• Choose a study place that away from people.
• find a study area that fits your needs.
• Make sure your study area has enough light.
• Dress appropriately for the weather.
• Turn your electronics off and keeps it away from
reaching out while you study.
