Introduction
This is a 100% coursework module. The assessments comprise a case study, a
presentation, and an e- portfolio. In the Case Study assessment, students in groups will evaluate
cases involving organisational issues and present their thoughtful recommendation outlining the
steps to be adopted to address the issues identified in the given case. The students as a group
will give an oral Presentation of the case study highlighting all the main component of their work
including analysis, findings and recommendations, etc. E- Portfolio will be maintained by each
student. The evidence of students’ learning throughout the course will be documented in their
portfolios. The e-portfolio will encourage learner autonomy and self-reflection.
This module will help students to further develop their academic writing skills by writing a case
study report according to expected genre and language conventions.
The assignment mirrors the type of coursework frequently assigned to students in their
disciplinary modules. Familiarising them with the structure and language of this genre will
support students in meeting the expectations of their subject lecturers.

hence only a suggestive guide on how you could utilize the student effort hours (SEH) for this

In line with the student led approach that is followed across all the activities undertaken in
Middle East College, Flipped Learning approach which promotes an interactive blended
learning environment shall be used for delivering this module. This shall constitute a
combination of on-campus, online, synchronous, and asynchronous modes of teaching, in
an appropriate Hybrid Flexible (HyFlex) mode. As part of learning in this environment,
students are expected to take a lead in their own learning and also actively engage with
course materials and with their instructors as well as with their peers. Students are
expected to complete the preparatory materials circulated through MEC Learn which could
include videos sessions /PPTs/ Reading Material, Quizzes, and other activities before
attending the face-face classes (online or in campus). As per the learning requirements of
the module, either all face-to-face sessions could be held on campus using HyFlex mode or
a few sessions could be held complete online as well. In the HyFlex mode, sessions will be
held in such a way that students will attend the synchronous classes online and/or face-toface interchangeably as per the timetable.
When students attend the face-to-face session (online or in campus) after going through
the preparatory materials, class time will be used to offer more collaborative and
responsive teaching. All concepts and techniques will be discussed with concrete examples
which are taken from applications from the field of study, to engage a wider group of
students. To promote student alertness and to check student understanding, frequent
questions will be asked and students will be made to work on small problems during the
class time. Many techniques shall be employed where the students are required to actively
participate during the class in mini lectures, discussions, problem solving exercises, practical
demonstrations, peer-assisted learning activities, etc. Practical sessions, wherever possible,
will be conducted using live demonstrations and simulators.
In addition, students will also be given formative assessments. After the class, the students
are expected to complete these formative assignments and other tasks that are given based
on the topics discussed in the class.
Students will also be provided with a list of suggested reading which helps them with quick
reference on important topics and additional problems for solving.
