Assignment Overview:
For this assignment, you will conduct a systematic academic literature review with a qualitative thematic
analysis on a chosen topic related to organizational strategy and/or policies in either a current or
historical context. The goal is to critically analyze a minimum of ten academic sources, identify
qualitative themes within the literature, and present a comprehensive review of the subject matter. This
assignment aims to enhance your research, analysis, and academic writing skills.
Assignment Components:
Topic Selection: Research Proposal Summary (Supplemental Assignment 1):
Before proceeding with the main assignment, you will submit a one-page minimum (1-2.5 pages)
research proposal summary defining the subject you intend to research. This proposal should briefly
describe the significance of the topic, its relevance to organizational strategy and/or policies, how you
intend to find the academic literature, and what you intend to find/your research objectives. The
submission must be an MS Word file, in APA format, and double-spaced using 12-point Times New
Roman font.

Clarity, relevance, and significance of topic (10 points):
Clear articulation of the chosen topic and its relevance to organizational
strategy/policies.
Concise explanation of the significance of the topic.
Demonstrates understanding of the importance of the chosen topic in the context of
organizational strategy/policies.
Justifies why the topic is worthy of research.
Research Objectives and Conciseness and Coherence (10 points):
Clearly outlines the specific objectives or questions that the research aims to address.
These objectives align with the chosen topic.
Presents the information in a well-organized manner within the given short assignment
requirements.
Uses clear and concise language to convey the proposal.
APA Format (5 points):
Adheres to APA guidelines for formatting, citation, and referencing. You will need at
least one academic resource on a separate reference page at the end of the submission.

Project Reference List Submission (Supplemental Assignment 2):
Before proceeding with the final paper, submit a reference list containing the articles you intend to
analyze and discuss. You will need at least ten sources you are analyzing. Ensure that your references are
in APA format. The submission must be an MS Word file, in APA format, and single or double-spaced
using 12-point Times New Roman font.

Inclusion of a minimum of ten scholarly and relevant sources.
Sources are credible and from reputable academic outlets.
Demonstrates a diverse selection of sources, representing different perspectives on the

applicable).
The selected sources directly align with the proposed research topic and objectives.
Each source’s relevance to the research is evident.
APA Formatting and Accuracy of Information (10 points):
Correct application of APA guidelines for formatting the reference list.
Proper formatting of various source types (journal articles, books, reports, etc.).
Each reference includes complete and accurate information (author(s), title, publication
year, etc.).

Reference List Rubric
Literature Review and Qualitative Thematic Analysis (Final Paper):
Length: 8 pages of double-spaced content (not inclusive of references, title page, abstract, etc.), MS
Word file, using Times New Roman 12-point font, APA format.
Sources: Utilize a minimum of ten scholarly sources. These may include peer-reviewed journal articles,
academic books, and reputable reports.
Methodology: Conduct a systematic literature review by critically analyzing each source. Extract and
categorize relevant information to identify common qualitative themes.
Qualitative Thematic Analysis: Synthesize the qualitative themes found in the literature and identify the
most frequent three themes. Provide an in-depth discussion of these themes, incorporating insights
from the sources.
Assignment Guidelines and Rubric:
All assignments (proposal, reference list, and final paper) should be submitted in APA format. Also, you
need to use MS Word using a 12-point font and double spaced (your reference list may be singlespaced).
Use in-text citations appropriately to credit the original authors and sources.
The final paper should include an introduction, literature review, methodology section explaining your
systematic approach, presentation and analysis of themes, discussion of findings, and a conclusion.
Analyze the strengths and limitations of the reviewed literature and your chosen methodology.
Ensure your paper is well-structured, coherent, and logically organized.
You may include relevant figures, tables, or diagrams to enhance the presentation of your analysis.
