Assignment for Economic
Write two pages with two references for this case:
In your neighborhood you notice a curious thing. On Wednesday night the local pub offers Ladies Night (all drinks for women at half-price) and the grocery store next door offers double coupon night for Senior Citizens. Fully discuss this pricing phenomena.
Rubric for Forum Assignments and Responses.
Base Points (85%)
Base points are the points you get for completing the assignment as described. Since an average grade in the class is a score between 83% to 86%, this is the starting point. These points are awarded for a submission with the following attributes:
· The submission is of the required length
· The submitting is entered in the text box, and not as an attachment
· The work is written in cogent, standard English appropriate to a Graduate level course, with few errors.
· The work adequately addresses the question posed or the response given, and recognizes most of significant issues the question raised
· The submission applies the information in the readings and materials to the question at hand.
· The offering uses appropriate sources. The citations are largely peer reviewed, or are from a reputable and recognized area. The sources address the core issue(s) of the question appropriately. The sources are cited in APA format.
· There are at least two such sources, exclusive of the textbook or source information given as part of the assignment
· There are three responses to your peer’s questions, or your peer’s and instructors observations, of the appropriate length, and on three different days.
Additional points available
Exceptional work will be recognized by additional points added to the base points. These points are awarded for work that significantly exceeds the above requirements. Up to 10 points can be awarded for each of the following.
· The work demonstrates unusual insights into the issue raised
· The work is particularly comprehensive in applying the materials to the question at hand
· The work is exceptionally well written.
· The sources used are especially on-point and well represented in the literature available.
· The sources exceed the number for the base points.
· The work suggests new areas of exploration, or challenges the original writer’s position in meaningful (and respectful) ways.
· Other areas, based on the instructor’s discretion, that show the work to be exceptional graduate work
Deductions of points
Points may be deducted for failure to meet the requirements for base points. Up to 10 points may be deducted from the base score for each of the reasons listed below.
· The work fails to recognize the key economic concepts as appropriate
· The response fails to apply the appropriate economic principles
· The response is too short. (Please note – the instructor will take into account unnecessary “filler” in the assignment, which he or she deems was inserted solely on the basis of meeting the word requirement)
· The work is not written in a style appropriate to graduate school.
· The response shows significant errors in usage, spelling, or grammar.
· The response is poorly organized
· Overreliance on personal observation or experience
· Not responding to an instructor inquiry
· The required number of sources are not present, either in number or in quality
· Other areas, based on the discretion of the instructor, that show the work to be inappropriate for graduate level work.
· The responses are not on different days.
Please note that no additional points are awarded for exceeding the required length.
The total points awarded will not exceed 100% (or go below 0%). The percentage of points given is multiplied by the total possible points to give the posted grade.
