Compare two (2) job positions from the episode and perform a job analysis of each position. 

From the episode of the Undercover boss, I was able to point out several job positions at Vivint which is an automation provider and doubles up as a smart home security firm. I captured four positions but out of the four, two jobs stood out, that is, the instalment technician position and the monitoring customer care position. The work of the instalment technician entailed installation and fixing of wires which are necessary for the home security system to operate.

His job involved a series of activities such as climbing of rooftops, fixing satellites, and finding efficient wireless connections. For the position of the monitoring customer care, the job entailed attending to customers on inquiry, answering calls from customers, ensuring customer safety through identification and questioning of customers.

The best way to carry out the job analysis was through one-on-one engagement. Using the critical-incident technique the Chief Executive Officer went on an undercover mission as a newly hired employee and assessed the behavior. According to Stewart, this is a method used to identify good or bad on job behavior. Both the instalment technician and the monitoring customer care employees were asked about the harmful duties they undertake in the course of their jobs and how they were finding their job to be helpful. The CEO then used their submissions to make changes to their jobs in order to improve the employees’ positions.

Job description

According to the analysis the Wireless Instalment Technician requires knowledge on electrical and electronic system specifically on circuit boards, processors, software, hardware, and programming. The tasks of this job include:

· Installation, maintenance and repair of security systems, alarm systems, and other related equipment and this must follow the electrical layout blueprints.

· Fix and fasten control panels, sensors, video cameras, electrical and telephone wiring system including door and window contacts.

· Take customers through the details of the security systems such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.

· Fix cables to reach fixture outlets via ducts, access holes, roof spaces and cavity walls.

For the monitoring customer care, the requisite knowledge should be on principles of social interaction, assessment and analysis of customer needs, evaluation of customer satisfaction through feedback mechanisms and effective communications (Telephone Operators, 2016). The tasks of the job include:

· Attend to customers’ calls by referring to location directories and providing telephone information.

· Check and review customer information for mistakes and make corrections

· Provide special assistance to customers experiencing problems and those who are in emergency situations.

· Make connections by observing signal lights from the switchboards.

The above-mentioned jobs are described and analyzed in accordance with the state and federal laws since they tasks do not violate any behaviors prohibited by law. The activities are explicitly defined in relation to the company and the purpose for which the company is existing. Since the tasks presented in the job description profile represent the vision and mission of the company, there is no breach of the law as it is within the principles and the policies of the company that the duties are informed.
