Select a publicly traded company to research and evaluate its Human Resource (HR) and business strategy, HR department job positions, and ways it markets its company regarding human capital. Some company Websites that provide this information are listed below:

  5. Propose three (3) ways that the company can increase diversity.

Human Resource department of an organization oversees various aspects of employment, human resource management such as employment standards and some aspect of recruitment and dismissal to mention a few. Therefore, this assignment will focus on Ford Motor Company and evaluate its human resource its business approach, HR department job capacities and ways it markets its company concerning human assets. HRM plays a vital role in managing employees, workplace culture, and environment.

Propose how you would ensure the HR strategy is in alignment with the business strategy.

For a company to be competitive in this changing world, strategic human resource management is paramount. In this case, strategic human resource management should link the Company’s HR to its strategic goals. To ensure the HR strategy matches with the business approaches, I would propose the following: ensure strategic resource planning that reduces the significant lead time between recognition of job recruitment and getting competent personnel who will share the company goals and objectives. Further, I would also propose strategic recruitment and selection to identify the right talents for establishing the right employees. This can be done in line with ensuring a company objective align with candidate’s objectives. Lastly, training and development practice is imperative as a way of obtaining as well as transferring skills, abilities among others (Becker et al., 2001).

Describe the HR job positions and the responsibilities listed for that HR department. 

The Company HR division has a number of obligations listed under their representation. These obligations include the following; global security and fire, clinical operations, learning and improvement and most important HR business operations to mention a few. The above-mentioned capacities are clearly stipulated in the “what we do” part of the human resource department

. However, they are two capacities highlighted on the site under HR which are the Pension Analyst and also to mention Occupational Health Nurse. In addition, the occupational health nurse incorporates the following:

• Conduct fitness-for-duty

• Conduct medical examinations

• Process medical records to mention a few

Determine which HR job positions you would prefer and explain why.

The area of Human Resource requires good number of skilled employees with the best communication skills and team development capabilities. In addition, the field of HR involves such activities as designing jobs, selecting employees, training, supporting management to ensure law adherence, as well as supporting the company with strategic planning. Therefore my most attractive area of human resource is labor relations. The later ensure collaboration between the company and employees legal support. Labor relations is ultimately concerned with preventing as well as resolving disputes involving workers which affect work situations.

Analyze how the selected company can establish HRM strategies to improve competitive advantages.

Competitive business strategies play a vital role in ensuring an organization success. In this case, organizations that integrate human resource approaches with CBS are more prosperous at achieving organizational objectives. According to (Dhar, 2010), the purpose of strategic management is to proactively analyze events, understand an organization working environments to ensure competitiveness in this dynamic world. In this case, the company can adopt such approaches solid training programs to ensure all workers are knowledgeable about the company’s operational practices. An organizational culture is important in the sense that it affects how workers feel about as well as how hard they work. Therefore Ford Motor should facilities a positive culture that boosts innovation to keep the company competitive.

Propose three (3) ways that the company can increase diversity.

Three ways that Ford Motor Company can increase diversity is by providing diversity training in the workplace. The essence is based on the rationale that hiring decisions are formed on finding the best applicants. Human resource department should fully comprehend the benefits of a diverse workplace because they are involved in implementing personnel’s policies. In addition, the company should also attract prospective workers by highlighting details that will entice employment from various cultures. This is important because it ensures the company will get fresh and vibrant employees.
