1. Taking online courses while I work full time and attend to the needs of my family has been a bit of a challenge in the beginning. After about a year and a half, the most important thing I have learned is to manage my time and plan out how to separate my free time, school time, and work. Being that I am more of a hands-on student, I was scared and nervous of completing work all through computer. Thankfully, GCU is so organized and the online courses are well developed that I academically managed and learned how to write an APA paper, reference and cite my work, and to write an abstract. Through all of my readings I have learn to be confident on becoming a good leader and knowing the routes of health care. What I hope to accomplish during this course and to integrate it into my professional career is researching in depth into health care and applying it into a real live work environment once I become a leader of a team.

I would like to share a few things about my academic time at GCU. Most of the curriculum challenged me to use my critical thinking skills and to look deep inside my own heart to ascertain what it is I believe. I have spent a lot of time learning how to be convincing in my writing through life experience, empirical knowledge, and good discussion with my classmates gaining a perception of folks from other areas of the country and differing sexes and ethnicity. This really allowed me to be a little softer on the edges regarding different demographic groups here in Colorado. I really think that the volume of knowledge gained will be a srpingboard to an already good career. I will be able to cross many discipline and possible employers with the body of knowledge that I have. I have utilized that body of knowledge in my career and am a resource and leader in the OR where I work. It is a satisfying feeling when youre needed, yet I worry for the facility when I am not there. Patient safety can be an issue with some staffing issues and I think the way I tackle problems there increases my value.
