Online Assignment:
Obtain the corporate financial statements for a retail or manufacturing company. This can be done on the internet by
going directly to your company’s home page. Things you want to look for on their home page in order to find the
financial statements:
1. Financial tab or Investor Relations tab. Often times, this tab or menu option will be found at the bottom of
their home page.
2. You want to look at the most current Annual Report for your company. Could be 2023, but might also be
2022.
3. You will need to print the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, and Statement of
Retained Earnings. You do not need to print the entire annual report.
Analysis:
Complete ratio analysis including 11 of the 18 ratios in your textbook on pages 778-779 in chapter 15.
Within chapter 15, you will find explanations and uses of all ratios. The company you select may not have enough
information to calculate all 18 ratios. That is why I am asking you to only calculate 11.
Extra Credit: If you are able to calculate more than 11 of the ratios that are listed on pages 778-779, I will give you
extra credit for every ratio you calculate above the required 11 ratios.
Report:
You must complete a professional level report including the following:
1. Title page
2. Ratio analysis along with a definition of the ratio and your interpretation of the results. For your
interpretation, I want you to explain to me in your own words what the ratio means for this company.
3. Conclusion: Would you invest in this company? Why or why not?
4. Please create your report in Word or Excel. This will help when you submit your report to me online.
