Scenario

You are a fraud investigator at Mountain National Bank and are investigating a potential financial fraud scheme. Your supervisor tasked you with analyzing guidelines for professional codes of conduct that are relevant to fraud investigators. She wants you to understand their application to a fraud investigation and be able to defend the relevance and importance of professional conduct as a fraud investigator. You will create a blog post for the company that will be used internally as guidance for all fraud investigators.

Write a blog post for internal use that describes professional codes of conduct that should be followed by a fraud investigator, defending the importance of these guidelines. Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

1. Describe the professional codes of conduct that are relevant to a fraud investigator. Include the following in your response:

   AICPA Code of Professional Conduct
   ACFE Code of Professional Conduct

2. Explain how the ACFE and AICPA guidelines apply to a fraud investigator.
3. Defend the importance of professional codes of conduct for a fraud investigator.
