computer generated program to complete
your assignment.

http://www.floorplanner.com/

 Go to www.floorplanner.com and click on

“Free Sign Up”.

http://www.floorplanner.com/

 Sign up using your email and a password

 After you create your new account, this

screen will appear. Click on “help” to view

the tutorial.

 This tutorial will be used only to show you

how to use the program. I could not get my

project to save from the tutorial.

 Just go through the steps and try everything.

Then I will take you through the steps at the

end to create a new

project.

 I just wanted to let you know this

information so you do not spend a great deal

of time creating a plan on the tutorial and

not be able to save it.

 Click on “Tutorial”. This will guide you

through the process of creating your project.

 Click on “Start with an empty room”.

 Choose a basic form from the options – the

square would be a good place to start.

 Indicate the dimensions of the first room

(length and width) and click start.

 Read the instructions on the right of the

screen and click “Next Step” when you are

ready to proceed with the next instruction.

 Add at least three more rooms to your

existing room so you can plan a bedroom,

bathroom, kitchen, and living room.

 Click on “Next Step”. The next two steps

show you how to edit walls if needed.

 Click on “Next Step”. This step shows you

how to add a surface. I added a surface in

front of my house. If you click on the dots

after you draw the surface, you can round

corners like I did.

 On this same step, if you look at the

instructions at the bottom, you can see how

to change the texture and color of the

surface you created. I made my surface look

like grass (left click on the surface).

 By left clicking you can also name your

rooms. I named my grass area “Garden”.

 You can also change the texture and color of

your floor finishes on this step. I created a

hardwood floor in my living room.

 Click on “Next Step”. This step explains how

to edit the surface. I already edited my

surface by rounding it when I inserted it.

 Click on “Next Step” to add furniture to your

rooms. Click on Library and select room type

and then insert. You can re-size and rotate

as needed.

 During this step, you can also insert your

doors and windows. Click on the library and

select “Doors and windows”.

 Click on “Next Step” to read about locking

items.

 Click on “Next Step” to learn about drawing

lines and single walls.

 Click on next step to learn about viewing

your plan in 3D. Click on 3D.

 While you are in 3D view, you can color your

walls by left clicking on the wall.

 To make each wall in the same room the

same color. Copy and paste the color

number to the next wall you are coloring.

 To rotate your plan in 3D, left click on the

plan and hold the button down while moving

your mouse.

 Now that you know how to use the program,

you can go back and create a new project.

The easiest way is to log out and log back in.

 Click on “Create new project”. See the

Course Content Assignment section for

detailed instructions.

 Name your project and click start. Save your

project.

 When you complete your drawing, email it to

yourself by clicking on the mail icon.
