Management Interview Project 1
During this project you will be asked to choose a manager that is willing to sit down and complete an interview with you. Choose a manager that you may know or at an establishment that you attend regularly. This manager should be someone that has significant experience in a management position. This is to give you an opportunity to learn first hand information / applicable information, that could be used to help you think about the kind of manager you want to be, areas of management you might be interested in, supervising others, and/or the downsides to management.
Approval and Questions:
You will need to gain approval for the manager and the questions that you will ask from your instructor before you are able to complete the interview. You will be able to submit the manager’s information and 10 questions that will be discussed during the interview into the Assignment called Management Interview Approval. I will review all questions and managers and provide you feedback. These 10 questions can be about the company; however, you should limit these to 1 or 2 questions. You will need to ask questions regarding areas that we have discussed throughout the beginning of this semester. These questions need to be open-ended questions and be asked without bias.Throughout Chapters 1 – 3 we have covered the topics listed below:
Management Styles
Management Traits / Characteristics
Manager Responsibilities
Internal and External Environmental Factors
Ethics in Management
Organizational Culture
Diversity in the Workplace
Think about these areas and questions that would be good information to know from an experienced / professional manager.
Analyzing your Interview:
After conducting the interview, write a paper that reflects the interview.
