PURPOSE: The purpose of this project is to introduce Configuration Management methodology used in enterprise IT infrastructures. Configuration management can be defined as a systems engineering process for establishing consistency of a product’s attributes throughout its life.

The following configuration management lifecycle was identified:

Students will explore configuration management features built into the Windows Operating system. This means various tools distributed as part of the Windows operating systems (Group Policies, MSI, WSUS, ADK, etc).

OVERVIEW: Student will:

1. Explore, identify, and explain Security Settings features in the Windows operating system.
2. Explore, identify, and explain OS Deployment methods available in the Windows operating system.
3. Explore, identify, and explain managing OS patch management available in the Windows operating system.
4. Explore, identify, and explain Applications deployment features available within the Windows operating system software.
5. Report on their findings.
