CSIS 408PROGRAMMING: CANVAS ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
Applications and data come to life through graphics. In this module, you are going to take the
data you created and collected in Programming: JSON and Local Storage Assignment and
you are going to display it to the user through a chart.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Your complete assignment folder must be zipped for submission.
2. Page Requirements
a. Must have a Header
b. Header includes link to an about page and menu page
3. All requirements from last week will be followed and completed for this assignment with
the addition of the requirements below.
4. Main Menu Page
a. There are three options presented to the user
i. User Information
ii. Work Activity Log
iii. Activity Graph
5. About Page
a. Using the methods and properties of the canvas element create one shape and
center it on the about page.
b. The about page should be updated to include an overview of your project this
week. The about page provides an overview of the project by producing a short
description on your project this week including what parts challenged you the
most and what parts you were excited to learn about.
c. Must include your name
6. Activity Graph
a. Setup a javascript to create the graph.
i. Setup the graph using canvas
ii. Verify there is data and notify the user if there is not data to chart
b. Provide a Title for your graph
c. Show the number of hours on the dates provided in the user entry.
d. The data is from the activity log from the user
e. You must set the width to make sure it is modified if on a smaller screen
f. You must update the tickmarks and the ticksize
g. Your graph must be filled with a color.
h. Be sure to include all necessary labels for the user
