To open PDF files (most of the files and handouts for this course are in PDF format), you are going to need the Adobe Acrobat Reader free software.
For downloading the software, click on the Adobe Acrobat Reader link above.

The instructions on downloading and installing the software needed for this class will be available later this week and downloading, installing, and using the software will be part of
Assignment 1 and they will be available at that time.

In this class, you are going to learn to use the Java programming language.
To download, install, and use Java to develop programs and applications, you are going to need to download and install the Java Development Kit (JDK) and one Integrated
Development Environment (IDE) like NetBeans or Eclipse.
Open the attached presentation Softwarelnstructions-DownloadAndUse.pdf to read the information and instruction on where and how to download, install, and use the
software and, if you do not want to type the URLs from the presentation, follow the direct link for the JAVA JDK, NetBeans IDE, and Eclipse IDE websites where you can
download the software.
The software is also available in Richland College Del Rio Open Lab, so, if you do not have a computer or you do not install your software on your computer, you can go to one of
the open labs and use one of the computers there.
Are you having problems downloading, installing, and using the software? Email me (give me as many details on your operating system, system type, what you were trying to do,
what was the error, maybe a screenshot of the error, etc) or stop by my office during office hours (are you trying to install the software on a laptop, bring the laptop with you)!

Creating a Screeshot
To create of a screenshot for assignments, you already have the software on your compute. Click on the link to open detailed instruction on how to create a screenshot and add it to
your clipboard. Once it is in the clipboard, you can paste it in a Word document.
