Please include the following in your policy analysis background (literature) review:

• Clearly state your policy question. You may want to bold this and have it stand out in your analysis.
• What is the problem your chosen policy is meant to address? How well is it addressing this problem?
• Who are the intended beneficiaries of the policy? Is anyone left out?
• What are the key components of this policy?
• Discuss the consequences of this policy, both intended and unintended. Be sure to include the consequences for vulnerable populations.
• Provide a historical context of this policy. For example, you might address the following questions. How did the policy come to be? How has it evolved to what it is today? Are there key moments in history that helped to shape it?
• Are there political partisan divisions around this policy? How so?
• Based on the literature that you have found, what is the iron triangle “balancing point” for this policy?

You need to have at least seven highly credible resources. At least six must be within three years. You may opt to use one seminal reference that depicts the historical underpinnings of your chosen policy. Here is the breakdown of resources:

• At least five current peer-reviewed library and/or National Library of Medicine resources.
• An original policy source reference. This is the text of the actual policy – your “primary source material”
• You may also include 1-2 credible news sources that discuss the policy, stakeholder voices, or some other important aspect of the policy.

Be sure that you are using balanced literature sources to accurately and equitably capture multiple stakeholder perspectives on this policy. Your literature review should be 4-6 double-spaced pages, not including the cover page and reference page. APA formatting for references, in-text citations, and headings is required.
